Using the techniques of the Impressionist painters, we will work to capture the changing light effects of nature in the Library Garden. If the weather is uncooperative, we will paint flowers indoors. Soft pastels are a great medium for doing small studies or finished work. This class will offer an easy technique for starting pastels that you can develop into your own finished pieces of art. Our focus will be on increasing our perception of color to create more and more complex, beautiful layers of color while enjoying the serenity of the garden.

Planning for a fall session is in the works. The cost will be a little higher. The tenative dates are:

We will meet in the third greenhouse just past the children's play area. There are some tables with red umbrellas. I will do a demo and I will have extra supplies there. You are free to paint where ever you like.
We'll plan to work inside, but if the weather is good we can go outdoors.
Anyone who is available can plan to have lunch at 12:30 and hang out till 1:30 or so chatting and eating.
